REGATTA PARK

WESTERN SYDNEY’S MOST LIVABLE CITY

PROJECT

Regatta Park

TASK

The aim was to transform Regatta Park at the Nepean River into the new focal point for nature, leisure, and recreation while further strengthening Penrith’s position as Western Sydney’s most livable city.

Key features of the upgrade include two new playspaces, accessible pathways to the river foreshore, over-water viewing platforms, a junior cricket oval, a functional carpark, and plenty of green open space for a variety of activities.

B&P worked on the master plan for the park plus conducted design reviews to ensure the F&B mix identified by the council was workable and achievable. This resulted in a kiosk offering dine-in and takeaway food and drink options, plus the transformation of the historic Police Cottage into a café and restaurant, with outside seating to boost amenity further. B&P conducted an EOI campaign for the police cottage resulting in 7 interested parties.

OUTCOMES

  • Communityfocused space created
  • More opportunities for locals and visitors to experience and enjoy the area
  • F&B mix workable & achievable
