University Retail Masterplan

TASK

  • Create a University Retail Masterplan which considers JCU’s own set of unique characteristics that may grossly impact the retail potential for the campus and find an appropriate solution

OUTCOMES

Brain & Poulter’s analysis identified an additional 3 food tenancies as being sustainable. Coupled with a revision of the mix of some lease expiries, we were able to deliver a broader, customer centric mix and an additional $250,000 per annum in rent.

 

B&P’s recommendations showed JCU could develop a better clustered critical mass of retail in a more accessible section of the campus. The new central retail location also added value in improving campus circulation, undercover access and green space activation.

 

Satellite offers were also repositioned in a new framework for now and the future to offer a more appropriate range to various population sizes.
