Conduct a Retail Masterplan

TASK

  • With some significant new on-campus residential developments, coupled with some key retail lease expiries, it was timely for University of Canberra to conduct a retail masterplan.
  • Analyse current planning and delivery of retail on campus to identify if the University was in danger of over supplying retail.

OUTCOME

Brain & Poulter re-jigged the food court mix appropriate to the student demographics and emerging food trends to drive an immediate increase in sales of 25%.

 

B&P’s circulation and population analysis and demographic dissection of the campus population identified The University was not offering the cuisines most desired by the campus population and that many key retail spaces were not activated with the right offers for the time of day.

 

B&P created an across campus strategy that has provided a new set of planning tools to ensure the right quantity and type of retail is delivered by the right operators in the right locations throughout the campus now and in the future.
