MACQUARIE GROUP

PROJECT

Macquarie Group Hospitality Strategy

TASK

Macquarie was relocating its Global Head Office to 50 Martin Place and consolidating employees from some other Sydney CBD buildings.

They wanted to establish a new client interface across 3 levels of their new building with both formal and informal spaces as well as better provide for employees working early and late hours. There was also a requirement to consider how internal employee F&B offerings could form part of a global benchmark for all their offices.

Macquarie also wanted tools to better manage the relationship between hospitality provider and The Bank.

OUTCOMES

Awarded 2016 Development of the Year, Macquarie Bank 50 Martin Place is a leading example of Commercial Hospitality. Unique in the B&P approach to developing the client entertainment concepts was our analysis of entertainment demand by time and type. This helped identify a highest demand being coffee meetings so B&P developed a “premium airline lounge” concept BEFORE security which allows for multiple casual meetings to occur and be attended by a barista and light food offering without the need for separate meeting rooms or wait staff and reduced the kitchen requirements on reception level.

For staff, a special subsidised breakfast bar was created, water bars on various levels and a “home meal replacement” cabinet added to the staff Café to provide meals for later working employees.
