Portfolio Wide Food Strategy

PROJECT

To develop a food strategy across the Myer portfolio

TASK

 

  • Develop a food strategy that complemented Myer’s repositioning to attract the more aspirational, brand conscious shoppers.
  • Ascertain sustainable F&B numbers for each asset.
  • Develop a roadmap to allow for ongoing self implementation.

 

OUTCOME

Through our strong retailer and operator relationships, Brain & Poulter were able to guide Myer on future food trends and benchmark operators to target markets, to ensure a best in class result. B&P was specifically engaged by Myer over other consultants because we were the only firm to guarantee that we could develop a ‘toolbox’ for Myer that allowed them to self determine the number, space allocation and mix of tenancies on an individual stores basis going forward rather than having to rely upon a food consultant each time.

 

Our approach resulted in a 4 tier planning system based on varying store types (flagship, premium, main stream, community). This has resulted in Myer store management being able to take ‘ownership’ of their food strategy within each store with confidence and full appreciation of the ‘size of the prize’ available to each store.
